Raven: Hello!
Due to boring technical reasons, we’re slightly off-kilter with the recap schedule. Happily, we’ve leant into the issue and will be back in seven days with Wing’s take on the sequential book in the series. In the meantime, here’s the next instalment of our podcast, in which we discuss The Unicorns Go Hawaiian.
Enjoy!
This is my favorite (?) SVT books. Stupendous! You didn’t mention my favorite scene – the dinner nightmare with Janet falling into the food, Lila’s huge burp, and “Jessica’s chair gymnastics.”
Carnival Ghost is a great book but that’s an Elizabeth book vs this Unicorn book.
I’m with you. The Carnival Ghost is good, but it’s not as good as this one or my other favorite…. The Magic Christmas! I don’t care if it’s controversial. I absolutely loved that book as a kid!
Oh, you’re in good company there, Mrs Patman! I love The Magic Christmas. It’s one of my favourites. It’s absolute piffle, but it’s such a fun book. I’m still a bit bitter that it wasn’t more Christmassy (loves me some Christmas), but aside from that, great fun.
I also love this book too. It’s a bit sad that this is the book that made me want to visit Hawaii. It’s not that I didn’t before, it just hadn’t occurred to me. I knew I wanted to go somewhere interesting with nice weather, pretty beaches and hopefully a waterfall. I read this and was like, “Yes! Hawaii!”
Oh yeah Magic Christmas was one of the ones I owned and was read over and over. It’s so dumb and I loved it.
