I think it’s fair to be frustrated with the Twins recons when they’re absolutely unnecessary. Todd had to be in all books so ElizaTodd could be the love story that even Wing was aware of. But making Winston athletic in Twins and a ridiculous clutz in High makes no sense. Why doesn’t Cara exist in Twins? (Honestly I forget about her sometimes because she gets demoted to BFF #2.) Enid got a backstory. Ken can make sense, though it would be fun if they’d addressed he was a later bloomer. Jessica’s adoration of Bruce is equally bizarre to me. As you point out, it’s not constant but it is a consistent through line of the Twins, only to burn out here. Jessica’s relationship with Bruce alternates between openly antagonistic and apathetic but why commit to much time in Twins?
